From K-sport USA. (Offical Suspension of Tampa Rally) 3/21/2008Team Bancalari/Tremmel wins Superstock class Team Bancalari/Tremmel wins Superstock class and finishes with a strong overall position of fifth at the Sandblast Rally in South Carolina. The Sandblast Rally is the first event of the year for the Eastern States Rally Championship and includes motorcycles in the rally. Their were several Dakar rally motorcycle riders competing in the Sandblast Rally this year. This was the second time competing at Sandblast for Team Bancalari/Tremmel and the competition was very tight in the Superstock class. We set fastest class stage times in 4 of 7 stages but were never far ahead of our competitors. Some time was lost on the last stage, which is run at night, due to a damaged open class car in front of us. We eventually passed the open class car but not after loosing time due to poor visibility created by it's dust. We were more consistent this year at Sandblast as compared to the previous year and did not have any spins or off course events. There was very good communication between driver and co-driver that enabled us to keep our speed up over blind crests which is very important at Sandblast in order to not bog down in the deep sand. Another factor that helped achieve a solid result was that we attained a quick pace right from the start of the first stage. Our Subaru held up very well and we did not encounter any issues that could not quickly be addressed in service. Ed Bancalari and Matt Tremmel were also very pleased to receive the 2007 Eastern States Rally Championship trophy at the awards banquet. Team Bancalari/Tremmel is supported by Ksport Suspensions, Ebelari Consulting and Pro-Aero Consulting. Team Bancalari/Tremmel supports the Buddy Walk, which brings visibility and support to the National Down Syndrome Society.
